The Bars and Hoops Radio Summer 2021 Internship Program was an internship program developed by Monarch Productions (Business Consulting Company), that provided college students with hands-on experience and the opportunity to work in a Radio Station. This was an unpaid internship program that provided documentation for college credit, and additional incentives provided by the management of Bars and Hoops Radio.
Interns were hired to work in the roles of: administrative assistant, blogger, social media content coordinator, photo and video editor, website manager, and on air personality. A job description for each role was developed by Monarch Productions, and approved by the Bars and Hoops Executive Team. Bars and Hoops Radio management conducted all candidate interviews as per selection criteria and chose the appropriate candidates for the program.
An on boarding process of selected candidates consisted of an orientation, developed by Monarch Productions for Bars and Hoops Radio, and an overview training consisting of job duties and responsibilities.
The Bars and Hoops Radio Summer 2021 Internship Program commenced May 24-August 13, 2021. Each intern was provided a weekly schedule not to exceed 20 hours and interns were provided with job roles and responsibilities. Monarch Productions provided co-management of the hired interns reporting to Bars and Hoops Management and scheduled weekly meetings to discuss progress of interns work assignments. A Professional development day was scheduled and conducted in early July consisting of topics pertaining to the entertainment industry.
Documentation for academic credit was completed by Bars and Hoops Management to the student’s respective schools.
The outcome for the Bars an Hoops Internship Program is to provide comprehensive work assignments that allow interns the opportunity to utilize their skill set.

Alexa Spinnato:
My name is Alexa Spinnato. I have always loved listening to the radio and talk shows and always dreamed of being on one someday. I decided to go to school to make my dream a reality. I love talking about music and sports, mainly hockey. My favorite team is the New York Islanders. LGI!!! My favorite hip-hop song is No Vaseline by Ice Cube.
Cameron Scandle:
My name is Cameron Scandle. I’m a senior communications major at Elizabethtown College and I’m from Coal Township PA. I am also the host of Scandle Sports Hour on WWEC 88.3. I plan on going to law school after I graduate from college. I got into broadcasting because I love sports, arguing, and being on-screen (or heard if it’s radio). I’ve been watching sports for as long as I can remember. I have always wanted to be a face or voice someone turns to get tips for their next GOAT debate, learn the historical significance of a specific player, or spark the interest to pursue what I do.
Favorite hip hop song: Never Been by Logic
Favorite teams: Miami Heat, Philadelphia Eagles, Duke Basketball and Football, New York Yankees, any LeBron team.
Caria Reynolds:
My name is Caria Reynolds and I am a senior at Hofstra University. Besides spending my time on the basketball court my other passion is broadcasting. The reason why I got into broadcasting is that I get to express myself freely and can make a lot of connections with different types of people. My favorite hip-hop song right now is Okay by Lil baby ft Lil Durk and my favorite sports team is Lebron James jk and Atlanta Hawks.
Hamza Saraswat
My name is Hamza Saraswat. I am the social media intern here at Bars and Hoops. The reason that I got into broadcast and journalism is that I wanted to cover sports. My favorite artist is Cordae. And my favorite basketball player is Kevin Durant

Since I go to college for directing and whatnot, I wanted to learn another form of broadcast that people indulge in. My favorite hip-hop song is The Choice is Yours by Black Sheep and my favorite sports team is The Knicks.
